Lee Iacocca celebrates the Mustang with Frank Sinatra and hand-brake turns
Drive me to the moon
Lee Iacocca fathered the Mustang. That's enough right there to ensure his enshrinement in the pantheon of automotive gods. When he was forced out of Ford, he went to a nearly bankrupt Chrysler, pulled their asses out of the fire, fathered the minivan and the Viper, and then took a much deserved retirement. Iacocca had actually been pushing for a minivan while at Ford, but Henry Ford II would have nothing to do with it. So Iacocca pushed it through at Chrysler. Now Dodge is the industry leader in minivans, not Ford. When you've got a good car guy, you should usually listen to him. Now Lee is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Mustang with a special 45-car production run of his own bespoke Iacocca Mustang. And then, just because he's Lee Iacocca, he commissioned his own video, complete with Frank Sinatra, long smoky burnouts, and beautiful, appreciative women.
