Buckaroo Banzai is like Citizen Kane, only with Japanese mad scientists.  No wait, it's All Quiet On The Western Front, except instead of Germans it's aliens from Jersey.  No no no, it's like Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, but with a rock band full of scientists instead of the Weasley family.  No, okay, I got it.  It's like Children Of A Lesser God, except with a big double-decker bus instead of wait wait wait, was Children Of A Lesser God the one with Chow Yun-Fat in the hospital?  No?  Oh, damn, then Mustafa never saw that one.

Star Trek. Now with Youth!

Is Star Trek relevant? Lincoln and Mustafa are old-school trekkies, having watched the show since it was on NBC in the 1960s. But  the Trek saturation of 1990s left them wondering if there was life in the old franchise. Thankfully, J.J. Abrams decided there was life in Gene Roddenberry's vision, and we've now got a rebooted world to explore. Lincoln collects his thoughts on the new Star Trek film here.

Ever dream of being in a rock band? Lincoln definitely did. Hell, he's 46 and still dreams about it. Linda Linda Linda is a Japanese movie about that dream coming true for four high school girls. Released in 2005 in Japan and in 2007 on subtitled DVD by Viz Media in the US, Nobuhiro Yamashita's comedy/drama is a slice-of-life piece of heaven. Read about it here.
